Prior to founding Kern Communications and The Luxe List, Merilee
served a multi-year tenure as Director of Public Relations

(NASDAQ:DIET). Prior to this, she held positions as
Marketing Programs Manager, Intranet Video Systems for Concurrent
Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:CCUR), Manager, Marketing Communications
for Ligos Technology (formerly Integrated Data Systems), Interactive
Media Manager at Boca Raton-based WebConnect - a division
of leading high-tech direct marketing firm Worldata, and in
1995 launched and operated her own Internet-based business
that was sold in 1998.
In
January 2007 Merilee was named a Finalist in the 3rd annual Stevie Awards for
Women in Business, an international competition recognizing the accomplishments
of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the companies they run,
which are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards

Merilee holds a Master of Business Administration
degree with a marketing specialty and a Bachelor of Science
degree, both earned from Nova Southeastern University in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. She also received "Marketing
on the Internet" certification from the University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth. Merilee is currently a member in
good standing with the International Food, Wine & Travel Writers
Association, the North American Travel Journalists Association
(honored as a Featured
Member in April 2022), the International Travel Writers
Alliance, the San Diego Press Club, and the National Association
of Professional and Executive Women (NAPEW).
